Effective Leader for Travis County

First elected as State Representative of District 51 in 2002, Rep. Eddie Rodriguez has established himself as an effective leader for Travis County, focusing on affordable housing, transportation, and clean energy, among other issues.

Rep. Rodriguez currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus and Treasurer of the Women’s Health Caucus.

The Meachum campaign was one of the most organized and effective campaigns in the history of Travis County elections. In a historic feat, Judge Meachum won with over 66% of the vote against a long time incumbent. Blue Roots was proud to be a key part of that success.

Blue Roots played several different roles in the campaign. Nate Walker acted as a consultant to the campaign and developed the strategy that helped Judge Meachum earn all but one of the endorsements of Democratic clubs which endorsed in the race. Blue Roots assisted Lupe with all aspects of her successful bid for Austin Community College Board of Trustees. On election night, Sosa was declared the winner, receiving the majority of votes cast in an election against two other active candidates.
